Artist rendering of Jon Huey winning the race with Nich close behind.
Another artistic rendering of Billy coming in 3rd with David hot on his trail for 4th.
(edit) Here’s an actual photo from the race. Check out the forum for more photos from Scott Moore.
19 skaters showed up to battle the elements as we raced down one of Portland’s finest hills, Mt. Tabor. The road was a little wet but very manageable (even without rainwheels). After getting some freeriding in the racing began around 10. Each person’s stance was limited to a small chalk circle on their board. If their feet came out of that, they were eliminated. Everybody managed to keep it in the circle and keep the wheels sticky side down (except for one spill during practice). After a few rounds of heats the final 6 was ready to race. Casey, Aidian, David, Nich, Billy and Jon were all on lined up ready to go. After a quick run of bumping, drafting a passing, Jon Huey came out victor with Nich right behind him and Billy and David following shortly. Jon is now $20 richer ($15 if you take out the entry fee cost) and one step closer to being the Pdx Downhill Series Champion.
Thanks to everybody who showed up and thanks to Skip for keeping tally and calling out the heats.
See you at the next Pdx Downhill Event!

HAHAHAH, hell yeah! Awesome race Billy that was mad fun! Nice job Jon, glad to see you standing up again. Hopefully you didn’t get in trouble for being late to deliver pizzas because you were busy winning the race.
I cant believe I borrowed a board with which nearly every bearing was frozen with rust…but now I got bigger better sponsors and own my own gear now!!!…cant wait to take back that 10th place finish
